]]>It’s official. I love these two! Last Spring Jill and I met at the Starbucks along the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway for you non CA peeps) and instantly clicked. She is a wedding planner’s dream – organized and opinionated! Over the course of a few months, we spent time on FaceTime planning details, discussing the overall excitement & praying for the journey her and Garrett were about to embark on.
Their wedding was held at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach, CA – no amount of airplane noise could stop these two from tying the not, the whole day was filled with an such an enormous amount of love. These two are filled with SO much joy and it was so evident. Jill & Garrett had a giant wedding party (12 each), so there was no shortage of celebration and they kept the dance floor full all night long.
Enjoy a glimpse into their day.

]]>TWO. THOUSAND. FIFTEEN.
This year is one for the books. It’s been a year of excitement, growth, opportunity and anticipation. Take a look //
// Woven & Wed launched
// Styled & created countless styled shoots
// Featured on a variety of wedding & lifestyle blogs
// Made it in print
// Walked alongside couples in their pursuit of marriage
// Met some incredible people in the wedding industry.
// Recognized my love for typography & hand lettering.
// Hosted the first ever Woven Workshop
// Ate far too many donuts.
God is good. We hustled and He blessed. Our expectations have been exceeded and we are so excited to have reached so many of our goals in the first year.
However, If I’m being honest with myself, I also have to write that this year has proved to be one of the hardest I’ve had to encounter. Alongside all of the amazingness – 2015 presented countless changes, challenges & heartache.
// Transitioning to life back in Minneapolis
// Starting a business (and the overwhelming process that it is)
// Staying true to who I am, what I want to accomplish & what I believe
// Another year of some of my deepest desires not being met
// Financial stress
// Unanswered prayers
// Hard trials and conversations with friends
I’ve told many close to me, countless times, that I’m ready for this year to be over.
And now it is.
I’ve spent tireless hours dreaming of the future.
And here it is.
But before that happens. I want to look back. I want to see another year of evidence that the Lord continues to work relentlessly in my life. That I’ve persevered and am coming out on the other side. I want to leave 2015 knowing and seeing that the Lord is good and proclaiming that He is enough through each season and year of life. I want to leave 2015 encouraged and expectant of what’s to come.
//
There’s a little of my heart, heading in to the new year. We’re excited for all that Woven & Wed will do in 2016. We have some big things in store and can’t wait to share them with you. May you all have a celebratory happy new year!
Cheers to 2016.

For this shoot, we let our imagination take flight. We wanted to fully celebrate fall because fall is coveted here in Minnesota. As the leaves fall and the colors change, weekends are spent meandering through the orchards, searching for the sweetest apples and savoring the aromas of a freshly baked apple pie.
Our vision was to celebrate fall, in a non-orderly fashion. We wanted to bring more of a whimsical feel to the orchard, using brighter colors and less of the yellows, oranges and browns that fall can bring about. Our goal was for the shoot to feel “fresh,” full of life and imagination. We created the mint & apple red color palette and added in a rustic elegance with the wooden table, chairs and crates. Added elements such as the scales, balloons, straws and linens gave that whimsy feel we had wanted. We gathered a variety of elements and collaborated to create a cohesive piece – it’s a bit like a modern “Alice & Wonderland” set up with a Snow White twist. I love the playfulness it represents, while appealing to the aesthetic of the farm.
We used apples freshly picked from the Apple Farm and brought in homemade mini apple pies. Let’s just say once the shoot was over, it wasn’t long before those plates of donuts and pies had left us feeling satisfied. Enjoy!

]]>Home. They say Midwest is best.
And we believe them.
On the top of Lutsen Mountains in Northern Minnesota you can see everything. To the right is the ever frigid Lake Superior and to the left is a canopy of evergreens as far as the eye can see. There is a place, shaped by the shadow of the trees. It’s serene, and every so often you have to remind yourself that you’re in Minnesota.
This shoot was an adventure in itself. From hauling all of our supplies up in tiny gondolas, setting up our entire sweets display in poison ivy (and not realizing it until our lovely florists pointed it out!) or crossing a river in a Truvelle wedding gown. It was an incredible day and I’m so thankful to have been a part of it. Our heart behind this shoot was to inspire brides in the midwest that they CAN have their mountain top wedding they’ve been dreaming of…without traveling too far. I loved being able to bring this shoot to life.
Brides, look no further. Enjoy this mountain top elopement. Take in the bold & moody elements, the movement, emotion and shadows that makes you feel something.

So, it is out there folks and the entire magazine is incredible – I am a little biased however that page 6-9 are the prettiest. I’m so grateful to the handful of creatives that made this happen, as well as all of you that are celebrating this monumental moment with us. If you feel so inspired, you can find the magazine at Barnes & Noble AND/OR let’s grab coffee and I guarantee you I will bring one!
Let’s do this.
“A few years had passed since I had stepped foot on Minnesota soil, and as an event planner and designer, I knew this new season needed to be celebrated. In a recent move back to my homeland after spending a season in California, I wanted to create something that reflected the beauty of Minnesota: the rustic north woods, the warm hearts of the people, and the community that I had come back to. I wanted to make a toast to Minnesota………….” (continued in Mingle Magazine, pg. 7)
